This catalogue accompanies the eponymous exhibition at Dulwich Picture Gallery which celebrates David Hockney’s printmaking work from when he was a fledgling artist in 1954 to the present day. Curated by Richard Lloyd, Head of Print at Christie’s New York, it also includes personal anecdotes from Celia Birtwell, Craig Hartley, Ed Ruscha, John Kasmin, Ken Tyler, Marco Livingstone, Martin Gayford, Peter Tatchell and Sidney Felsen giving useful insights into the artist’s evolving work in the traditional mediums of etching, lithography and screenprinting and reveals how brilliantly he has embraced opportunities to make images offered by new mediums like the office photocopier and the inkjet printer.

‘This joyous show of his 60-year printmaking career reminds us that Hockney has been one of Britain’s great artists.... Prepare yourself for queues... but I promise you, this show will be worth it.’ ALASTAIR SMART THE TELEGRAPH
