Enid Marx was an influential textile designer and artist whose fabrics, in particlular, were familar to all travellers on London Transport during the years from 1930–50s. Seating in bus and underground train carriages were adorned with her dynamic abstract patterns and this book celebrates them alongside her other talent as a children’s illustrator and champion of folk art. The recently refurbished Compton Verney Gallery in Buckinghamshire paid tribute to her life and work with this book and exhibition.
