Tate Britain’s catalogue for their main autumn exhibition in 2014 has been rapturously received by critics and public alike. The achievement of gathering together such a collection of late works has been informative and revealing. A display like it is unlikely to be seen in one exhibition space ever again. It shows the key works from 1835 –1851, the last 16 years of Turner’s extraordinarily productive life.
    The exhibition leaves the visitor in no doubt that these are the works of a genius who was decades ahead of his time.
